Volkl was founded by Georg Volkl in Straubing, Germany in 1880. It was not until 1972 that Volkl produced its first tennis racquet, the Zebra, which was the first full composite racquet on the market. Since that time Volkl racquets have been used by tennis legends John McEnroe and Boris Becker. Today Volkl is a major player in the tennis industry, producing racquets, bags, strings, and accessories.
